3 Life Lessons to Live By
Do you have some life lessons that you live by? I was recently interviewed on a podcast and we chatted about the eight different careers that I’ve had and the three BIG life lessons I’ve learned along the way.
I started the conversation by mentioning that I was, in fact, Morgan Freeman’s mistress – his Wardrobe Mistress – when he performed in “Driving Miss Daisy” off-Broadway in the mid-’80s!
In my next job, as a Personal Assistant, I worked for very wealthy people in NYC. It made me realize the truth of the old adage, “money does not make you happy”.
After that, while designing costumes for a ballet commissioned by the Julliard School, I discovered that I really did not enjoy the process of artistic creativity. So that life lesson was “just because you are good at something doesn’t mean you should do it.” And I went on to a different career.
As a professional organizer and entrepreneur building my own businesses, I have been lucky to have been coached by other experienced entrepreneurs. My third life lesson is to find a trusted mentor. Now, I am trying to mentor other Organizers as they start and grow their businesses.
How about you? I’d be very interested in hearing the life lessons that YOU have learned along the way. Leave a comment in my FB Group “Organizing Solutions for Busy Women”!
